The Pet Professionals

We strive to provide the highest quality care for your pet. Our facility provides a broad spectrum of diagnostic procedures through in-house testing and the use of external laboratories. We have digital radiographs and abdominal ultrasonography for high quality imaging, and a sterile surgical suite. We also consult routinely with the local Emergency and Board Certified Specialty Practices when special diagnostic procedures are required.

Cory Bassett, DVM

I have many passions in my life; family, friends and of course veterinary medicine. I have wanted to be a vet since I was four years old. As a child my love for animals was strengthened by my many family pets from dogs, cats, horses to guinea pigs. As I grew older my interest in animal science and biology was furthered at Baker University where I received a BS in Biology in 2004. I married my high school sweetheart in 2006, the same year I was accepted to vet school. Finally, my lifelong dream was realized once I completed my Doctor of Veterinary Medicine from Kansas State University in 2010. I have been a small animal/exotic veterinarian ever since, practicing in Shawnee Mission Kansas from 2010-2016. During that time my family grew with the addition of three beautiful children. Now, I am the proud co-owner of All Creatures Small Animal Hospital here in Overland Park Kansas. Getting to come to work everyday to do a job I truly love, and working alongside some of the most caring, compassionate people is more than I ever could have dreamed of!

Sarah Dunn, DVM

Helping animals and the people that love them is my calling. Growing up in Kansas, I have been around animals all my life. I graduated from Kansas State University College of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Since then, I have spent time in private practice, focusing on general medicine, surgery, and internal medicine of dogs and cats. I especially love the study of ophthalmology (eyes) and soft tissue surgery. However, my favorite aspect of veterinary medicine is the human-animal bond. I love taking care of pets to the direct benefit of the people that love them the most. It is the most satisfying part of my day.

When out of the clinic, you can find me playing with the kids, hiking, reading, or snuggling with our French Bulldog, George, or crazy cat, Strawberry.

Rebecca Koehler, DVM

I have always had a love of animals, science and learning. I grew up doing 4-H here in Kansas City, which gave me the opportunity to be around a variety of animals and work with different facets of Kansas State University. Coming from a large family of “K-Staters” combined with my own experiences I decided K-State was the place for me. I graduated with a BS in Animal Science in 2010 and then continued on to their Veterinary College, graduating in 2014. I also met my amazing husband there and we were married in 2014 as my career was just beginning. I came home to Kansas City and started working as a small animal veterinarian. Our family has grown since then and we have 3 wild and wonderful children and currently 3 ornery cats. Outside of work I am usually chasing my kids around (literally and figuratively) with their different activities, working on projects with my husband, or curled up with a cat and a book.

I was fortunate enough to join the All Creatures Family in 2020. I love all my patients but cats, and feline medicine, are certainly a favorite of mine. I am also expanding my work on our small exotic patients which are a fun addition to my days. Dentistry is one of my veterinary passions. I love being able to help pets with dental issues or pain and see how much their comfort improves. I also enjoy working with our geriatric patients to help keep them comfortable and give them and their owners the best time we can as they age. I look forward to meeting new pets and their people and giving them the best care that I can.

Ashley Ballard, RVT, CCAT

Ashley is a Registered Veterinary Technician who graduated in South Carolina from tech school in 2013. She has taken her love for fitness and running and has applied it to providing healthy habits for our furry friends. As our rehab therapist (CCAT), Ashley helps our patients live their best lives. In her free time, Ashley can be found at the gym, running trails or home reading with her two dachshunds, two great danes and her husband.

Diane Huffman, RVT

Diane is a Registered Veterinary Technician who graduated from Maple Woods in 2006. She is a Dog-mom to three schnauzers, Maggs, Indy, and Risky. Her favorite overall breed and species are schnauzers, but loves to treat cats and dogs alike. Her main interest is veterinary dentistry. She loves to do canine agility with her dogs, from training to competition, and taking scenic hikes with them. She is our clinic rock, solid, reliable, and professional.

Colleen McChan, Veterinary Assistant

Colleen is a veterinary assistant that graduated with a BS in Animal Science from Kansas State University in 2012. She has been in the veterinary industry for over 10 years. She is a Fur-mom of two cats, Pete and Marco, four dogs, CiCi, Simon, Doug, and Rodney, as well as many aquatic critters. She is currently enrolled in Penn Foster to become a registered technician. In her free time she knits, walks her dogs, and enjoys plants inside and outside. Her favorite species to treat are reptiles and her veterinary passion is dentistry. She is our clinic educator, bringing new ideas and emerging medicine for exotic species.

Rachel Collins, Veterinary Assistant

Rachel is a veterinary assistant who is currently enrolled in Penn Foster Veterinary Technician program to become a Registered Technician. She has been in the industry for over 10 years and has a degree in Animal Science from Michigan State University. She loves horses and sheep however dogs and pocket pets are her small animals of choice. Rachel is a Fur-mom to a horse, Nacho, and three dogs, Raven, a beagle, Pixie, a Chinese Crested Dog mix, and Echo, a shepherd mix. Her spare time is usually spent with her dogs and horse, reading, or being crafty. She is in charge of our social media as well as our clinic morale cheerleader. Educating clients about nutrition, behavior, and training are her favorite veterinary passions.

Jenny Hagge, Veterinary Assistant

Jenny is a veterinary assistant as well as office manager. She has been in the veterinary industry for over 10 years. She is a Dog-mom to two chihuahuas, Trixie and Ruby, as well as two cats, Hallie and our former clinic cat Junipurr. She is our resident little dog whisperer. Jenny is the clinic “mom” as she advocates for all of us when it comes to work-life balance and physical health.

Haley Livingston, Veterinary Assistant

Haley started as a kennel assistant quickly moving to kennel manager and soon after, Veterinary Assistant. She has a BA in history from Truman State, however recently enrolled in Maple Woods Veterinary Technician program. She is a Fur-mom to one cat, Kiva, a corgi, Eleanor, and a shepherd mix, Fionn. Her favorite species to treat are dogs, cats, and hamsters. Her veterinary interests include dental care, geriatric care, and learning anything and everything new. She is an enthusiastic and wonder-filled associate who keeps us all young and learning.

Mallory Burns, Veterinary Receptionist

Mallory is one of our veterinary receptionists with future dreams of becoming a veterinary technician. She has a degree in Global studies from Missouri State University. She is a Dog-mom to Newton, the cowboy corgi. Her favorite species are canines but really just loves all animals. She is an avid nerd and reader in her spare time. Mallory brings a sense of humor to the clinic with her imaginative earrings as well as a sense of calm in those hectic moments.

Dihanna (Dee) Doss, Veterinary Receptionist

Dee is one of our veterinary receptionists, and has been working in the pet care industry for 8 years. She is a fur-mom to two cats (Furnando, and Vince) and a dog (a Doberman Pinscher named Cleopatra.) In her spare time, she loves to play any and all types of games (video games, board games, card games). She loves to cook & bake as well! Dee brings an important ray of sunshine to our clinic and is amazing at client education.

Jennifer Lamas, Veterinary Receptionist

Jennifer is one of our veterinary receptionists, having been in the industry for over 30 years. She graduated with a BA in Business Administration from Denver Metropolitan. She was one of the first women army veterinary technicians. A woman of many talents as our resident IT troubleshooter and organizer. She loves all things pug, including her three dogs Millie, Benson, and Bruno (pug mix). Jennifer keeps us all in line as our clinic efficiency master.
